This spring I am looking forward to having Memorial Day 2009 off for the first time in 11 years.
I'm poised to attend my first Smithville Lake event especially if they forcast it to be 15-25mph or more.
If anyone else has that time frame off, I'll supply the EMF Beer on tap, for this event.
If it aint blowin there then I will be where it blows that weekend. Give me a role call for those interested.
Finally, I once again found one of my favorite videos having
to do with kiting. It was shot at the 2006 kite festival in Kansas City, which is put on by the KC Kite Club. look
for this Video on the videos page.
Check the EVENTS Page for further info on the Smithville Trek.

All the local riders and I enjoy getting others excited about kiteboarding and love helpingnewbies out. If you want to get schooled about kiteboarding come on out to our Cheney Lake launch mapped out
on the Launches page. It's not uncommon for us to help someone get started and go all the way from the "trainer
kite" stage to the "body dragging" stage. After that it's up to you. We can point you in the right
direction of either new or used equipment. Otherwise we recommend that you take lessons from a certified instructor,
as safety should be your number one concern. We used to have a local rider from Corpus Christi and he had
been a certified instructor ,"Jeff Chilcoat". He hung up his official kite school days, and move here a few years
back. After two years here he finally convinced his wife to head back to the promised land in the early spring
of 07. Since then Mark has received dual certification as a kiteboarding instructor and is our go to guy on kiteboarding
instruction and teaches with Wave Runner support. He has traveled extensively to tourist locations to instruct.
He has his own website and store located on the links page as well as the link towards the top of this page.
Shout out time to Kiter Mike, John and Mark Doyle, and of course Hein.
